James Madson, 64, a well-known accountant and longtime resident of Greeley, died after a short courageous battle with cancer at the Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado inpatient unit, Greeley.
Mr. Madson enjoyed the outdoors and spent a great deal of time fishing and camping with his good friend, Dutch Klinginsmith. He is best remembered by his many friends for all the help and support that "was theirs for the asking" anytime day or night. Though his last years in Greeley were not some of his best, he loved the town and its people.
Survivors are a daughter, Kimberly Madson, and two grandchildren, Avery and Logan, all of Denver, CO; a brother, John Madson of Folsom, Calif.; a nephew, Barry Madson, wife and two sons, all of Dayton, Nev.; his niece, Chauna Dason, her son and daughter, all of Grass Valley, Calif.; and longtime friend, Penny Graham of Greeley.
A small gathering will be from 4-6 p.m. today at Roasty's, 920 8th Ave., Greeley, for friends who would like to attend.
Donations may be made in his name to Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado.
Northern Colorado Crematory, Greeley, is in charge of arrangements.
